CTV  offers a volunteer and student internship program. Following is a list of assignments. For further details, you may call 301-773-0900, extension 222.

Intern and Volunteer Positions

  1. Public Access/Programming Division
    1. Assist manager/staff supervisor with the following duties (weekday evenings between 5:00 and 10:00 p.m.
      1. Basic Editing
      2. Desk Duty/Visitor Sign-In
      3. Equipment Scheduling and Check-out/-in
      4. Videotape Review
  2. News Division- CTV  produces a live, nightly (Mon.-Fri.) newscast called CTV News; this 30-minute program features local news and current events.
    1. Assist news producer with the following broadcast journalism duties (full-day schedules, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.):
      1. Script Writing
      2. Videotape Editing (VOs/VOSOTs)
      3. Field Interviews
      4. Logging Tapes
      5. Story Research
  3. Production Division 
    1. Assist production supervisor with the following duties (normally scheduled weekday afternoons until 5:00 p.m.):
      1. Crew Member (audio, camera, character generator, floor directing, lighting, set-up/break-down, teleprompter, VTR operation)
      2. Editing
      3. Making Dubs
      4. Studio Inventory and Maintenance
